Graduate Testimonials

Hammer Heads gave me the confidence and training to start my career which has totally changed my life.

Hammer Heads has changed my life and, now that I’ve become a journeyperson, my life has come full-circle as my union has brought me back on a part-time basis to assist with instruction for new Hammer Heads classes.

Hammer Heads didn’t just teach me construction skills — it gave me confidence, purpose, and a belief in myself that I didn’t have before. Through the hands-on training and strong support system, I was able to step into the construction industry prepared and determined to succeed. I didn’t just find a job — I found stability, growth, and a real career path. I am living proof that with the right opportunity and support, your life can change.

Since I completed the Hammer Heads Program, my life has changed drastically - I was able to move out, get a second car and got engaged. In my company I’m given more responsibility at only 3rd year. I’m a trusted worker who gets tons of overtime and because of the life skills I got in Hammer Heads I was able to translate that into my job which makes me a reliable worker.

Hammer Heads gave me a sense of purpose and responsibility. Many people wish they had the chance to turn their life around and, to me, Hammer Heads was that chance. I went from two time college drop out to buying and owning my second car. Hard work always pays off.

As I am nearing the completion of my apprenticeship, I am truly grateful to the Hammer Heads team. I wouldn’t be where I am today without their advice and encouragement.

Hammer Heads has helped me improve my life in many ways, not just financially, but personally and professionally, as well. I learned the value of discipline, perseverance, and consistency. The program showed me that I don’t have to be limited by my environment I can rise above it and create my own path. Today, I am proud to say that I am a Hammer Head, a 2nd year plumbing apprentice with UA Local 46 and I am building a strong and stable career.
